Unions support Andy Levine for Fresno Unified School District Area 5 Trustee

Fresno, Calif. – The Fresno-Madera-Tulare-Kings Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO has endorsed Andy Levine in the upcoming Fresno Unified School District Board of Trustees special election. Voting in the special election for Area 5, which represents the Fresno High neighborhoods, will take place March 14 to April 12.
“Professor Levine is a local educator, community leader, and Fresno Unified graduate. His connection to education is authentic and he is both a great leader and listener. The students, parents, and workers of Fresno Unified will be well represented by Andy’s passion and dedication to improving student outcomes. Our Labor Council is proud to endorse him for trustee,” said Dillon Savory, Executive Director of the Fresno-Madera-Tulare-Kings Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.
Levine is currently a part-time faculty member in the Sociology department at Fresno State, and also a senior advisor for local nonprofit Faith In The Valley.
The Fresno-Madera-Tulare-Kings Central Labor Council is comprised of 53 local unions across four counties and represents more than 105,000 San Joaquin Valley workers. The council’s Executive Board interviewed candidates for Fresno Unified’s Area 5 race and sent out questionnaires as part of the vetting process. The Executive Board then voted in favor to endorse Andy Levine for Fresno Unified School Board Area 5.
