PHOTOS: ‘Drive-Out’ COVID Labor Day Caravan

On behalf of the Central Labor Council, and all workers, we extend a heartfelt ‘thank you’ and appreciation to all our volunteers, sponsors and allies who came together last month to help make our ‘Drive-Out’ Covid Labor Day Caravan a success.
The event saw more than 300 people roll through the line at Fresno City College, receiving donut holes, pro-union masks, and civic information packets. Additionally, about 150 people chose to receive COVID-19 tests administered by the UCSF Fresno Medical Center Covid-19 Equity Project.
Notably missing were our local first responders, who were battling the Creek Fire. I want to commend them, and all frontline workers who magnanimously continue to protect our community through challenge after challenge.
Helping give away the goods were several local community organizers, union leaders, elected officials including Congressman TJ Cox and Fresno City Councilmember Esmeralda Soria, and allies of the labor movement.
With all our help, we were able to keep our Labor Day tradition strong and provide for working families amidst a global pandemic.
