“Drive-Out” COVID Labor Day Caravan

dillon savory / August 24, 2020 /

This Labor Day, join the Fresno-Madera-Tulare-Kings Central Labor Council, as we celebrate the selfless, passionate and essential work of our local union workers.

Union Brothers and Sisters,

The global pandemic has brought an unprecedented light on how delicate American society is and how reliant our country is on the working class.

While we are saddened to veer away from our traditional Labor Day Breakfast that has been held since 1986, our annual celebration will instead pivot into a socially-distanced, drive-thru COVID-19 testing event in collaboration with UCSF Fresno Medical Center, the Office of Fresno City Councilmember Esmeralda Soria and Fresno City College.

The event is free to all union workers and their families, and participants in the “Drive-Out” COVID-19 Labor Day Caravan will also receive one free neck gaiter (per adult), a box of donut holes and civic information regarding voter registration for the upcoming election, the U.S. Census, and more.

The event will take place Monday, September 7th at Fresno City College, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Traffic will enter the event along North Van Ness Avenue, just north of McKinley Ave.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE A NO-COST DRIVE-THRU COVID-19 TEST, AND TESTS ARE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 400 REGISTRANTS SO ACT PROMPTLY. TO REGISTER, CLICK HERE.
